How to Prepare for This Full Moon Meditation

The Full Moon is a time of illumination, culmination, and release. As the moon reaches its peak, it shines a light on what is ready to be acknowledged, healed, and let go. This is a powerful time for cleansing old energy, releasing what no longer serves you, and making space for new possibilities. Just as the moon begins to wane after its fullness, you too can shed emotional weight and step into greater alignment with your true self.

I have designed this meditation specifically for use around the time of the Full Moon or whenever you feel the need to release stored energy — whether it be old emotions, habits, or limiting beliefs.

To fully embrace this meditation, take a few moments to prepare your space and set your intention.

  1. Find a Quiet Space – Choose a peaceful environment where you won’t be disturbed. You may want to dim the lights, light a candle, or burn sage or palo santo to clear stagnant energy.
  2. Get Comfortable – Sit or lie down in a relaxed position. Use a cushion or blanket to feel cozy and supported as you let go of what no longer serves you.
  3. Use Headphones (Optional) – For a more immersive experience, consider using headphones to block out distractions and deepen your connection to the meditation.
  4. Keep a Journal Nearby – After the meditation, take a few moments to write down any emotions, insights, or shifts you experienced. Journaling helps process what has been released and affirms your commitment to moving forward.

I recommend starting with short, simple sessions. Find a quiet space, sit comfortably with a straight spine (this keeps energy flowing), and focus on your breath for just 5-10 minutes.

Consistency matters more than duration. If thoughts come, just notice them without judgment and return to your breath. Remember, meditation is a practice - be patient with yourself.

What are the benefits of practicing these guided meditations?

What is the recommended meditation posture?

For optimal results, I recommend sitting with a correct straight spine posture. This allows you to be both relaxed and alert while keeping your energy channels open and flowing.

Ensure your hips are higher than your knees with a slight forward tilt in the pelvis. I recommend using a cushion or block if you're sitting on the floor, or you can use a chair.
